Meet Nancy

Nancy Albus, LPC, CEDS-C,

My career path into behavioral health began with my own journey of self-discovery. In my thirties, I returned to school to earn my master’s degree while exploring a more meaningful career path. I was seeking work that offered purpose and depth, and I was also preparing for the shifts in identity that come with motherhood as children grow older. As a mother of two daughters, I was especially drawn to better understand eating disorders.

What I discovered was a passion for supporting personal transformation and healing. I have now spent over 20 years working with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and the everyday challenges that can impact quality of life. I feel grateful to support individuals who are seeking growth, even when the process feels difficult.

I have spent most of my life in St. Louis and raised my daughters here. I understand the unique pressures of balancing motherhood and work, navigating aging parents, and experiencing life transitions firsthand.

I offer therapy for women across all stages of life, with a focus on major transitions such as empty nesting, body changes, and shifts in identity. I also support men navigating life transitions and personal growth, and work with couples seeking to strengthen and improve their relationships.

I hope to bring a compassionate process of healing to you.

Nancy’s Experience

My career in behavioral health spans more than 20 years and includes clinical practice, training, supervision, and executive leadership, including serving as CEO of national eating disorder treatment organizations. This experience deeply informs the thoughtful, ethical care I provide to clients and the guidance I offer clinicians seeking supervision.

One of my primary clinical focuses has been the treatment of eating disorders and the underlying concerns that often accompany them, including anxiety and depression. I hold a deep belief that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible and am committed to supporting clients as they move toward that outcome.

Another central focus of my work is supporting women through identity development and life transitions, including parenting changes, the transition to an empty nest, shifts in personal and professional identity, and the emotional and physical changes associated with aging. A significant part of my practice also involves working with men navigating life transitions and personal growth, supporting greater emotional awareness, clarity, and connection. In addition, I offer couples therapy to help partners improve communication, navigate challenges, and strengthen their relationships, often integrating individual therapeutic work into the relational process.
